Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Attorneys

Our principals have represented clients and served as local counsel to out-of-state law firms, in patent, trademark and copyright actions and we are currently involved in patent litigation being conducted pursuant to the Local Patent Rules of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. These local rules, promulgated by the Judges of the Western District Court, are designed to make Western Pennsylvania a forum of choice for patent infringement and invalidation actions. The rules provide for accelerated case disposition of patent claims and make numerous changes to the process of Federal Rule 26 disclosures, claim construction, use of expert witnesses and disclosure of infringement and invalidation contentions. The Pennsylvania Western District is one of a number of district courts in the United States to have adopted such Local Patent Rules. We represent clients in patent, trademark and copyright matters and in litigation involving trade secrets, non-compete agreements, licensing issues and claims brought pursuant to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

Our attorneys have extensive experience with all aspects of patent protection and litigation with specialized training and experience in the biological, chemical, computing, electrical, mechanical and optical fields. As registered patent attorneys before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), we can draft and obtain patents for our clients in a variety of technical fields. In addition to prosecuting patents, our attorneys have decades of experience handling complex patent litigation matters for Fortune 500 and mid-size companies, both as plaintiffs and defendants. We have successfully represented clients with a variety of different technologies in obtaining favorable settlements or jury verdicts. We can provide Intellectual Property Audit Services for companies of all sizes and we can do so on a cost-efficient basis. Our attorneys also handle Trademark Opposition proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
