Picadio Sneath Shareholder and Principal to Expand Leadership Role In National Organization of Defense Lawyers
Chicago (October 27, 2008) - Henry M. Sneath, a veteran intellectual property and complex business litigation attorney, has been named Second Vice President of DRI-the Voice of the Defense Bar.
The selection of Mr. Sneath, name partner at Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C. in Pittsburgh, Pa., was made at the October, 2008 Annual Meeting of the 22,500- member organization held in New Orleans. Mr. Sneath has served on the Board of Directors of DRI and was previously the Chair of its Commercial Litigation Committee. Most recently he served as Chair of the Public Policy Committee. By virtue of his election, he will become President of DRI in October, 2011.
"As Public Policy Committee Chair, Henry has played an absolutely crucial role in helping to engineer DRI's expanded branding campaign. He has been an inexhaustible source of creative new ideas and strategies to support our emergence as the leading organization for defense attorneys focused on complex litigation," said John R. Kouris, Executive Director of DRI.
"His election as Second Vice President assures that he will now be making an even greater contribution to DRI's ongoing growth in 2009," added Mr. Kouris.
Mr. Sneath has tried over 90 cases to jury and non-jury verdict in Federal and State Court jurisdictions and has helped clients resolve numerous disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution. His extensive track record in federal and state courts encompasses commercial disputes, intellectual property, construction claims, insurance coverage, and insurance bad faith claims. Mr. Sneath has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2006 and as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer since 2006.
A member of the prestigious Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, Mr. Sneath is a frequent lecturer and seminar course planner on a wide range of business litigation and intellectual property topics. He is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell.
"As Chair of the Public Policy Committee, I have been privileged to represent DRI-the Voice of the Defense Bar in what is, by definition, a particularly conspicuous capacity. As Second Vice President, I intend to increase my role in a variety of initiatives, addressing the many complex issues facing our civil justice system and further strengthening our effectiveness as advocates for business involved in civil litigation throughout the world," said Mr. Sneath.
Mr. Sneath graduated from Hamilton College and Duquesne University School of Law. He was Clerk to the Honorable Henry X. O'Brien, Chief Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Mr. Sneath is the former editor of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Civil Litigation Section Magazine and is Chair-Elect of its Intellectual Property Law Section. He is a member of the American and Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Associations.
