Several Business publications recently quoted Firm Shareholder Henry M. Sneath regarding a trademark dispute involving on-line site "Facebook" and regarding the copyright and trademark dispute Hasbro v. Agarwallas involving the on-line Scrabble game clone, Scrabulous

Shareholder Henry M. Sneath, who handles patent, trademark and copyright litigation, was recently quoted in The Wall Street Journal on-line magazine Marketwatch regarding the dispute between the Chief Executive of the networking site Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, and his academic contemporary, Aaron Greenspan, who is challenging Facebook's registered trademark. "Pressing for the cancellation of a trademark is a difficult legal maneuver even for seasoned lawyers, according to Henry Sneath, a patent and trademark attorney with Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton P.C. in Pittsburgh..."

Sneath was also quoted in The Los Angeles Times , The San Francisco Chronicle, The Chicago Tribune and The Tech Herald  regarding the legal dispute between the creators of Scrabble (Hasbro and Mattel) and the makers of Scrabulous (Brothers Jayant and Rajat Agarwalla) and their on-line host Facebook, after suit was filed by Hasbro, the alleged infingers pulled the Scrabulous game and launched a new one called Wordscraper. As to the new game Wordscraper, Sneath is quoted saying,  "I'm not convinced that it is different enough," said Henry M. Sneath, an intellectual property attorney and a board member of DRI -- The Voice of the Defense Bar, an organization of 22,000 defense lawyers. "Copyright infringement in particular does a very detailed factual analysis of whether or not content is substantially similar to the original. Business publications quote Firm Shareholder Henry M. Sneath on Cisco v. Apple Trademark Lawsuit

Firm Shareholder Henry M. Sneath was recently quoted in the Information WeekEE Times  and Computerworld on-line magazines regarding the Trademark Lawsuit filed by Cisco Systems against Apple, Inc over the alleged infringement by Apple of Cisco's iPhone registered Trademark. Sneath noted that the trademark issues were "murky and complicated" and that the stakes were large. For Apple, he said, "a large penalty looms if the court eventually rules against it -- penalties for willfully infringing on a trademark can be tripled, and the court can order payment of full legal fees for the plaintiff, he said. Sneath served as Annual Meeting Chair for the 22,000 member DRI's annual convention in Washinton D.C., in October 2007.  Attended by over 1500 DRI members, the convention featured blockbuster speeches, Legal CLE and Committee meetings and social events. Sneath moderated some of the speaker panels featuring speakers like Bob Woodward, Brit Hume, Hon. John Conyers (D- Mich.) and Hon. John Cornyn (R- Texas).

Shareholder Henry M. Sneath was inducted recently as a Fellow in the prestigious Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. The Academy was founded in 1959 and is limited to 320 members who meet the qualifications of membership, including substantial jury trial experience and overall professionalism.

Firm Shareholder Henry M. Sneath elected to DRI Board of Directors

Henry Sneath was elected to a national position on the Board of Directors of DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar, a 22,000 attorney member organization of commercial litigators, insurance defense counsel and corporate counsel. He formerly served as Chair of DRI's Commercial Litigation Committee and its Intellectual Property Subcommittee. He has also recently been named Chair of the DRI Public Policy Committee.
